Placement Test Appointments

Which Tests Should I Take?

Most new students are advised to take placement tests for English (or ESL) and Math.

 

Only students who plan to enroll in Chemistry 1A, Biology 6A or Biology 40A need to take Chemistry and Biology placement tests. Click on above link to see available dates and time.

 

Appointment Availability

It is recommended that you request an appointment two (2) weeks in advance of the test date. 

  • Make an appointment to insure you can test on a certain day and time.
  • Students may test on stand-by basis but are not guaranteed a seat.
  • All students should arrive at Assessment Office 15 minutes before test time.
  • Students must bring a photo ID.

* This is a paper and pencil test.  Students must arrive 30 minutes before test time for check-in. Students who arrive late will not be seated. Check in at Assessment Center, SCS 144 at 8:30 a.m. (inside of  building).

CONTINUING STUDENTS:  If you want to schedule further placement tests, please come to the Assessment Center Information Entrance (Room 144) inside the  Student & Community Services Building.

Test Location Entrance

The Assessment Center Testing Lab is located in the Student and Community Services Building, Room 146. Use the outside entrance from the Stevens Creek Blvd. side of the building for all English, ESL, Math and Biol 40A scheduled test appointments (unless otherwise posted).


The Chemistry 1A/Biology6A test is administered at different locations. Come 30 minutes before test time to Assessment Center, Room 144 ( check-in inside the building).

General Questions and Stand-by Testing Entrance

To speak with an Assessment Center representative and for stand-by testing check in, please use the Assessment Center entrance at Room 144 inside the Student and Community Services Building.
