Erick Raich, Head Coach

Coach Raich returns for his fifth year at the helm for the Dons. In his first two years at De Anza College, Raich led the program to back to back playoff appearances and third place finishes in the Golden Gate Coast Conference. In addition to the success on the field, his 2017 and 2018 squads were awarded by the American Baseball Coaches Association the Team Academic Excellence Award. In his four years as the head coach at De Anza College, Raich has sent 32 players onto the 4-year level to continue their playing careers, along with 35 players total moving on to continue their education at 4-Year institutions.

Prior to coming to De Anza College, Raich was the Head Baseball Coach at Palo Alto High School. During his five year tenure at Palo Alto High School Coach Raich helped guide the Vikings to four league titles and their first ever CCS Championship in 2011. In addition to coaching, Raich was an associate scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for four years.

Raich went to Saratoga High School where he played both football and baseball. During his time at Saratoga he was a two time 1st Team all-league selection along with an All Mercury News selection in baseball. From Saratoga, he moved onto play at West Valley College as an outfielder and was part of two Coast Conference Championships in 2001 and 2002.

Raich received his bachelors degree from Concordia University - Irvine along with his Master Degree in Physical Education and Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University. Currently, Raich lives in Los Gatos, CA with his two daughters Ava and Amelia.

Brian "Boomer" Richer, Associate Head Coach

Brian returns back to the Don's for his fifth year as the Associate Head Coach. In his first year, Brian helped lead the Don's to their first playoff appearance in twelve years. Brian has been extremely instrumental working with hitters and does a tremendous job developing catchers. In addition to his on field duties, Brian has been an integral part of recruiting and day to day operations with the De Anza College Baseball Program.

Brian comes to De Anza College from Los Altos High School where he was the Head Assistant Coach. Prior to Los Altos, Brian was an Assistant Coach at West Valley College from 2009 - 2013 where he assisted with catchers and hitters.

As a player, Brian played for Coach Steve Beaulieu at Santa Teresa High School where he was an all-league Performer. After his time at Santa Teresa he went onto play at West Valley College and was part of the 2006 Coast Conference Championship Team.

Brian is a 2010 graduate of San Jose State University receiving his bachelors degree in Kinesiology. Currently, Boomer lives in San Jose, CA

Dylan Wisthoff, Assistant Coach 

Dylan returns back for his second season with the Dons as an assistant coach working with infielders and hitters along with coaching 1st baseball. Dylan brings a wealth of knowledge to the program and does an outstanding job with the development of the De Anza College infielders.

Prior to De Anza College, Dylan was an assistant coach at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA. As a player, Dylan played at Canada College and transferred to perennial power, Southern New Hampshire University to finish out his playing career.

A native from Anchorage, Alaska. Dylan currently resides in San Francisco, CA with his wife Erika.

Anthony Lim, Assistant Coach 

Anthony is a first year coach with the Dons as an assistant coach working with outfielders and hitters along with coaching 3rd Base. Anthony played for Coach Raich in 2014 at Palo Alto High School and moved on from there to play at Whitman College in Washington. Anthony has a great feel for the game and developing players along with a tireless work ethic.

Matt Risko, Assistant Coach 

Matt returns to the De Anza Dons as pitching coach coming off a great career as a De Anza Don. Matt was a 2nd Team - All Conference Performer in 2018, leading the team in starts and innings pitched. We are excited to have him back with the program on the coaching staff. In his short time on the coaching staff, Matt has done a tremendous job with the pitchers, specifically with increasing their velocity along with their strength and conditioning.

Kris Hesenflow, Assistant Coach

Coach Hesenflow returns to De Anza College for his fourth season as an assistant coach. Hesenflow has been instrumental in the turn around of the baseball program helping guide the Dons to top 20 rankings over the past three years.

Prior to De Anza College, Hesenflow came from Palo Alto High School where he served as associate head coach and pitching coach. Prior to Palo Alto, Hesenflow was the pitching coach at Willow Glen High School where his pitching staff lead the Central Coast Section with the lowest ERA and Wins. Before his time at Willow Glen, Hesenflow was the head assistant coach at his alma mater Prospect High School. During his summers Kris helps run CCB which is one of the top college development programs in the country.

As a player, Kris was a two time all-league performer at Prospect High School and was an All Mercury News selection. From Prospect, Kris moved onto play at West Valley College as a pitcher and was part of the 2001 Coast Conference Championship Team that year.

Hesenflow currently resides in Sunnyvale, CA.

Rick Raich, Bench Coach

Coach Rick "Papa" Raich brings his wealth of knowledge to the De Anza College Baseball Program. Rick has spent almost his entire life on a baseball diamond. Rick has had tenures at Santa Clara University, San Jose City College, West Valley College, Mission College, Saratoga High School and now completing the cycle coming to De Anza College.

Rick's experience and passionate love for the game helps teach players the physical fundamentals and mental toughness required to succeed. He credits these attributes to retired Hall of Fame Coach, John Oldham who he played and coached for at San Jose City College and Santa Clara University.

Rick played his high school ball for Willow Glen High School in San Jose. From there he moved onto play at San Jose City College and Fresno State. After his prep career Rick was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In addition to his 25+ years of coaching, Rick is a partner/founder of Matusich and Raich Property Management and Real Estate Investments which he has been servicing the Santa Clara Valley for 40 years. Along with that he has been a member of the Los Gatos Rotary Club for 20 years.

Robbie Deauville, Team Manager

Robbie has been Team Manager for the De Anza Dons since 2012. Prior to coming to De Anza College, Robbie was the Team Manager for San Jose City College. Robbie attended Branham High School and currently lives in San Jose, CA.
