2018-2019 Cheer Team Information
Team performs and competes as a POM team and cheers home games for 2 sports.
Fall 2018 Tryouts
Clinic: We will have 2 days of clinic to teach the dance and cheers required for try-outs.
Meet in the Fitness Center (PE610) @ 2:45 p.m.
We move to the Main Gym (PE210) @ 3:30 p.m.
Team Practice Schedule
- Mondays & Wednesdays 2:45 p.m.-4 p.m.
- Meet in PE610, Fitness Center @ 4:45 p.m.
- Review Cheers, Learn and choreograph dances for Half Time Performance
The team is planning to have UDA (Universal Dance Association) to come out to campus and do a private/home camp.
Students will be paying to take part in camp and for their 2 days of camp attire.
We cheer HOME Football games -Saturdays @ 1 pm. Check out the De Anza Football schedule for dates.

For the year 2018 the team participated in three competitions:
- The American Championship's The American Masterpiece, Jan 2018, San Jose Convention
- First Place
- Spotlight Dance Cup, Feb 2018, Performing Arts Center, San Jose
- Ruby and Diamond
- Showstoppers Dance Competition, March 2018, San Mateo Convention Center
Team does regular fundraising often.
Team members are responsible for setting up such fundraisers with support from other team members, coach and advisor.
Students pay for all uniforms, gym bags, warm ups etc. We do TRY to keep this as affordable as possible and only change the uniforms every 3 yrs. Once you agree to purchase and you pay for your uniform we cannot refund students. We do our best to process and get these ordered as soon as possible. Please read the Club Constitution. You will have to search under clubs by category (sports).

- Briefs (for under skirts).
Cheer in white tennis shoes (any kind of all white shoe preferred).
Competition Team wears tan jazz shoes.
Team Competition and Governance
Team votes for all officers (Presidents/Captain, Vice Presidents/Co~Captains - 2), Treasurer and Secretary.
Team also needs at least 2 ICC Reps. (Inter Club Council).
Team votes for ALL financial expenses.
All team members get the opportunity to try-out for the Competition Team. Those selected will represent De Anza College at local competitions.
