About De Anza Women's Volleyball
De Anza College has a tremendous volleyball history. The De Anza Dons have been to the state playoffs a total of 9 times and have been the state runner-up a total of 5 times. We also have over 25 conference titles!
De Anza finished out the 2007 season with a record of 15-7. We were Co-Champions in the Coast Conference and advanced to the Northern California playoffs. De Anza lost in the first round to a tough Siskiyous College team.
The 2008 season looks very promising as we will be bringing in some outstanding talented freshman.

About Coach Guevara
Dawnis Guevara graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose in 1988. Dawnis attended San Jose State University where she was a four year full scholarship athlete, and was the starting outside hitter for all four years. During these four years, SJSU was ranked nationally for Division 1 in the top 20 every year and top 10 during her junior year.
She is on the record books for kills and digs at SJSU. She was selected to the Freshman Team (Big West), Second Team (Big West), and First Team (Big West). Dawnis was also a professional player on the San Jose Storm for 4 years, playing with various Olympic and professional beach players. She currently holds an AAA beach rating.
Dawnis has coached for over 20 years, and has been a head coach at the collegiate level for 9 years. During her 9 years of coaching at De Anza College, the team has won the conference 7 years and have been second place for 2 years. She has taken the De Anza Dons to the playoffs every year. Dawnis has been named Coach of the Year for the Coast Conference for a total of 6 years.
