for state Inspection and Maintenance (I and M) licensing is
granted in the same way as credit for ASE certification. To
take the state licensing examination, technicians take Auto
65P and verify work experience by means of ASE A6 and A8 certification
(or equivalent verification acceptable to the California State
Bureau of Automotive repair).
