How To Get Into Day Program

Helpful advice for applying to the day program

Here is a recommended path

1. Successfully pass the lecture and lab combination of Auto 50A (Introduction to Automotive Principles) and Auto 50B (Applied Automotive Principles).  It is highly recommended that students take these two classes concurrently.  These classes are offered in all four quarters during the morning, afternoon, and evening.  Check the college catalog for availability.

2. Successfully pass the lecture and lab combination of Auto 51A (Introduction to Automotive Principles - Chassis) and Auto 51B (Applied Automotive Principles - Chassis).  It is highly recommended that students take these two classes concurrently.  These classes are offered in winter and spring quarters during the morning, afternoon, and evening.  Check the college catalog for availability.

3. It is strongly recommended that you take English and math placement tests.  Arrange testing with the Assessment Center at (408) 864-8717.  Begin taking some math and English classes as time permits

4. If time permits, take Auto 53A and any additional evening auto classes.  These additional classes will help a student's chances to be accepted into the day program.  Examples of these recommended evening classes include Auto 60, Auto 60A, and Auto 60B.
