Support Jack Scott at Today's Budget Conference on the Impact of Cuts to Community CollegesJune 1, 2009
Dear Community College Leader,
Today, Chancellor Jack Scott will be testifying before the Budget Conference Committee on the impact of budget cuts on California's community colleges. Supporting him will be hundreds of students, faculty and staff from our colleges, and we need your help to ensure the testimony is heard.
The higher education testimony, beginning with the heads of all three segments, begins at 2:30 p.m. today. Listen <http://188.8.131.52/SEN-4203>, watch <http://www.calchannel.com/>watch>
Throughout today, we are running a campaign of 10,000 calls for community colleges, which will deliver approximately 80 calls to each legislative office and is reasonable at only 100 calls per community college.
Can you spare five minutes of your time today to make a difference? It's as easy as 1...2...3...
1. Simply visit this site: <http://www.ccleague.net/act/calltoday.html>
2. Type in your ZIP code to pull up your legislators
3. Use the easy talking points to make your calls
Don't forget to click the "Call Made" button next to each of your legislators so we get credit that our legislators have been called. You can check back on the <http://www.ccleague.net/act/>live tally of calls made, and <http://www.ccleague.net/act/emailfriend.html?campaign=10000calls>invite your friends to participate.
The committee is scheduled to start voting on cuts this Thursday, so time is running out to make a difference.
