A Practical Guide to "Greening" Your Business With Solar Photovoltaics
This workshop will provide an in-depth view of solar photovoltaics as a way of saving money on utility bills and becoming more "green" in our communities. Low Carbon Lifestyles - Measuring and Monitoring Your Carbon Footprint
'What gets measured gets managed' is the mantra of business managers, and applies equally to understanding and managing our individual and collective environmental footprints. In this workshop you'll gain an understanding of how energy use equates to carbon emissions, and subsequent green house gas (GHG) warming. You'll learn how to read energy bills, do a simple GHG (green house gas) audit, and engage in energy efficiency activities, clean energy provisioning, and investments in GHG offsets to both manage and lower your environmental footprint. Introduction To Blueprint Reading for Manufacturing
This course covers general drawing information, tolerancing, dimensioning, and threads. It will provide the student with information on how to visualize three-dimensional mechanical parts from a two-dimensional drawing and to read additional supplemental information from the title block, list of materials, notes, and revisions This course is aimed at individuals working with machinery, maintaining machinery, or involved in maintenance. It is directed at all those who need to develop marketable skills and a foundation for reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.

Introduction To Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
This class will enable the student to become familiar with and interpret drawings in accordance with ASME Y 14.5M 1994 Standards. The course will present the basic language of GD&T, symbols, their proper usage, and the application to engineering drawings. The student will learn the drafting "dos and don'ts" oriented towards consistency of use and ANSI dimensioning practices. Measuring applications with emphasis on how industry measures GD&T will also be covered.

This class will provide the Office 2007 user with quick hints on ways to use the software more effectively. Topics for Excel include: filling in a series of dates, ridding yourself of fine lines, opening specific spreadsheets at start-up, "fractions or decimals?," entering more than one line of data in a cell, protecting cells from data entry, giving your worksheet a background, how not to lose sight of your headings, and changing the cursor's default direction. Topics for PowerPoint include: Annotating slides, maintaining proportions while resizing element, importing outlines from Word, animating your slide show, creating semi-transparent objects, using curved texts, checking your formatting, using portions of images, and making notes in a slide sorter view. Topics for Word include: "webbed" tables, watermarks, converting tables to plain text, centering text vertically, getting rid of curly quotes, collating documents, and bringing straying lines back into the fold, and using keyboard shortcuts.
