To Prepare for Your Appointment

  • BE ON TIME!
  • Bring transcripts from other colleges, test scores, your education plan, and any other records that are relevant to the issues you want to discuss.
  • Make a list of questions you want to ask.
  • Do as much legwork ahead of time so you can make the most out of your time with the counselor or academic advisor. For additional suggestions,see What's Your Reason?

Are You a New Student to De Anza?

Please follow these steps before meeting individually with a counselor or advisor.

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Take placement tests
  3. Sign-up for a New Student Orientation
  4. Enroll in COUN 50: Introduction to College.
  5. What if I need to register for classes before I complete COUN 50? See which courses to take first.
