Choosing a College Major or Career Workshop 

 

1 ½ hour workshop

 

Various times through out the quarter.  Available for both enrolled and non-enrolled students. Non-enrolled persons must complete the De Anza application.

 

An introduction to assessment.  Includes a brief “True Colors” personality assessment.  Students get a general idea of what majors and careers fit their personality type.

Career Center Assessments 

 

Eureka: True Colors, Micro-Skills and Occ-U-Sort

 

Discover: Interests, Abilities and Values

 

Anytime during Career Center hours.   Must be currently enrolled in classes.

The self-assessments in Eureka and Discover are designed for the (registered) student who wishes to pursue independent assessment and research.

 

The Career Center staff does not provide interpretation of assessments.  Students may seek interpretation/assistance from a counselor if desired.

 

CLP 75: College Major and Career Options 

 

Six week course

2 units

CSU Transferable elective

 

Typically offered the first six weeks and the last six weeks of the quarter.

Assessment focused.  The SII and the MBTI are used.  Students get a detailed look at what majors and careers fit their personality and interests.

CLP 70: Self Assessment

 

Twelve week course

4 units

CSU GE (Area E)

 

Offered at various times throughout the year.

Assessment, Research and Decision-making focused.  The SII and the MBTI are used.  Students get a detailed look at what majors and careers fit their personality, interests, skills and values.

 

This course includes more in-depth research and decision-making exercises.
