A Message from the Chair of Elections

Hello! My name is Michael and I'm excited to be your chair of the Elections Committee as well as Vice President of De Anza's Associated Student Body Senate this year. While the shift to an online quarter will present a number of new challenges, I'm confident that we will be able to come up with solutions that maintain the atmosphere of in-person campaigning and voting.

What does Elections do?

The purpose of this committee is to oversee the various different election proceedings we have throughout the school year to elect new members of the DASB. From candidate campaigning and advertising to the actual voting itself, we are tasked with creating an environment that welcomes student voices from all backgrounds to become leaders on campus. We are the gatekeepers of DASB and we will strive to create a Senate that is more diverse and better representative of the De Anza community.

Function/Role of the Elections Committee

  • Oversee DASB elections throughout the school year
  • Enforce the rules of the DASB Elections Code
  • Revise the DASB Elections Code as needed
