Practice in comon rhetorical strategies used in academic writing. Composition of clear, well-organized, and well-developed essays, with varying purposes and differing audiences, from personal to academic.
English Writing 100B and Reading 100; or Language Arts 100; or English as a Second Language 24 and 72 and consent of English Department Chair; or equivalent placement (normally based on results of English Placement Test).

My name is Alan Simes and I have been a full time member of the Language Arts Division at De
College for over twenty years, teaching courses in English Composition, Literature, Philosophy
Film. I have been teaching online since 1999. When I can drag myself away from the computer
