A. Locate and appraise information about companies.
B. Examine business news websites: national and international.
C. Develop an introductory knowledge of online resources about major

There are four online assignments corresponding to objectives A-D above.
Answers to the assignments are gained by accessing different websites on the
Internet. Answers are submitted online within the Catalyst web based program.
Students are asked to use subscription databases; off campus users will enter
their 8-digit student id number.
LIB 51, Business Resources on the World Wide Web is an online class. All of the
instructional materials are included in the course website. The website is part of
the De Anza College Catalyst system.
Grades are available through the student's "My Portal" account. For more

There are 4 assignments and a final exam.
There are four assignments and a final exam. Each is worth 50 points for a
total of 250 points.
A = 100 - 93% - minimum of 233 points
B = 92 - 85% - minimum of 213 points
C = 84 - 76% - minimum of 190 points
D = 75 - 69% - minimum of 173 points

Policy on Copying and Cheating:Students who submit the work of others as their own or cheat on exams or other assignments will receive a failing grade in the course and will be reported to college authorities.

- Article Databases and Research Databases The library subscribes to several electronic databases which
provide access to thousands of full-text journals, newspapers, and magazine articles. Research databases
include: LEXIS NEXIS Academic, Encyclopedia Britannica Online and a Practice Test Database which contains
Nursing Exams, TOEFL Preparation, College Entrance Exams, and many more.
To use the article or research databases from an off campus computer, log in with your 14 digit library
number or eight digit student id number. These instructions are repeated on the first page of the library
website along with descriptions of all the online resources provided.
