Description
Human relations behavior in organizations emphasizing personal and interpersonal relationships. Examination of motivation, communication skills, leadership skills, emotional and physical wellness, diversity, and ethical behavior for promoting effectiveness on the job.

Instructor Information: Lale Yurtseven
My name is Lale Yurtseven. I am a part-time faculty member in the Business Division at De Anza College. I have taught several courses including Human Relations in Business, Introduction to Business, Customer Service and International Business Management. A bit about my background: I am Turkish, I grew up in Germany and I came to the United States in 1986 as an exchange student. I returned to earn my Bachelor's Degree in International Relations at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. I continued at the Fisher Graduate School of International Business to earn my M.B.A. in International Management. I have lived in San Jose since 1997. Prior to my teaching career, I worked for different multi-national companies for several years, ranging from small companies to industry giants. I mostly worked in management and business development. In 2001, I co-founded a small technology business in the Bay Area where I am still involved as a manager. I also work independently as a Workforce Training Professional. I offer training courses, seminars, and workshops for companies in Professional Selling, Customer Service, Management Training, Team Work Skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills Training. I am also a part-time teacher at West Valley College and Mission College in the Business/Marketing Departments.

Requirements
Information Technology:
You will need to have access to the Internet in order to complete some of the
assignments for this class. Additionally, some of the assignments will need to
be typewritten. If you do not have access to a computer please be aware that
there are computer labs on campus available for students in the Tech Center.
Objectives
1. To provide the student with a basic overview of human relations and
business.
2. To introduce the student to the concepts and terminology of human
relations.
3. To acquaint the student with the various functional areas of human
relations.
4. To provide the student with a background to assist her/him in analyzing
and studying human relations.
5. To prepare student to achieve insight, knowledge and relationship skills
needed to deal with a wide range of people-related issues in the work place.

Research databases include: LEXIS NEXIS Academic, Encyclopedia Britannica Online and a Practice Test Database which contains Nursing Exams, TOEFL Preparation, College Entrance Exams, and many more.
To use the article or research databases from an off campus computer, log in with your 14 digit library number or eight digit student id number. These instructions are repeated on the first page of the library website along with descriptions of all the online resources provided.
