Want To Take APE Classes?
Follow the steps on this webpage, depending on whether you're a
New Students
Apply to De Anza College
De Anza College uses the statewide application system known as OpenCCC. This online
system is designed to accommodate most students. Complete the De Anza College application
and you will receive your 8 digit campuswide ID (CWID) number and password to access
the college’s MyPortal site.
Priority Enrollment
Remember to declare a major (not "undecided") and select a goal of transfer, degree or certificate when you fill out the application.
- These are important steps to qualify for priority enrollment
- You'll also need to complete assessment and orientation, and prepare an educational plan, to get priority enrollment
Submit a Disability Verification Form
Complete a Disability Verification form to verify your disability.
Give your doctor or appropriate health professional the following documentation:
- Instruction Letter
- Disability Verification Form
- Disability Definitions and Documentation sheet
Submit the completed Disability Verification Form to the Disability Support Services office. You can
- Scan the form and send it as an email attachment to dss@deanza.edu
See a DSS Counselor
Once you complete the steps above, you will be scheduled to meet with a Disability Support Services counselor, who can assist you with arrangements for your classes, services and disability accommodations.

Current or Continuing Students
We are sending online registration packets to all continuing students. If you don’t receive one, please contact Michael Fosnaugh in the division office for Disability Support Programs and Services at De Anza College.

- Be sure to include your full name and your eight-digit De Anza student identification number, also known as a Campuswide ID or CWID
We will check to make sure you have a current Disability Verification form on file and then send you an electronic registration packet for students with disabilities.
The registration packet will include a DSS registration form for the upcoming quarter and a petition to repeat classes, along with instructions on how to complete these forms.
You will be able to complete these forms on your computer using Adobe Sign to sign electronically. (If you have taken APE courses before, you will need to complete both forms. You won’t be able to register for classes until your petition to repeat classes has been approved by the dean.)
