How to Get Your DASB Eco Pass Clipper Card

Thank you for choosing De Anza College to pursue your academic career. As a De Anza student, you can enjoy unlimited rides on VTA bus and light rail lines.

You are eligible to use the Eco Pass VTA transit pass provided that you are enrolled in classes for the quarter and are in good standing with your fees.

Follow These Steps . . .

1 Register for classes and pay your fees

Go to MyPortal to register for your classes. You will be automatically charged a mandatory Eco Pass fee — Part-time students with 0 to 5.9 units pay $3 per quarter, part-time students with 6 to 11.9 units pay $4 per quarter, and full-time students with 12 or more units pay $5 per quarter.

2 Get Your Personalized Clipper Card

Clipper CardYou must get your personalized Clipper Card from the Office of College Life. See hours. Keep this card. It's automatically reloaded with the Eco Pass each quarter that you're enrolled at De Anza and are in good standing with your fees. Your Clipper Card can be used for other transportation agencies if you add funds or other passes to the card.

3 Register Your Clipper Card Online with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)
Go to and click on the "Register a card" link on the top left side of the page.  You will need to create a My Clipper account.  If you do not register your card and you lose it, you will lose all non-Eco Pass values you have placed on the card.  If you place other values on to the Clipper Card, you will be able to use it for multiple transit agencies.
