Our Mission
-

Administrative Unit Outcomes (A.U.O)
- Students and staff will report the campus grounds are clean and aesthetically pleasing.
- Students and staff will report grounds crew smile and provide assistance, when asked.
Our Team
The Grounds Team, under the supervisor of Grounds, consists of 4 full-time employees. By staggering shifts and days of the work week, Grounds has staff available on campus approximately 10 hours per day, six days a week.
Our Commitment
The Grounds Team provides exceptional grounds maintenance, field maintenance, tree trimming, cultivating, irrigation services and special events, and is responsible for all outside maintenance of the campus, including landscaping, parking lots, parking structures, roadways, and walkways.
What We Do
The Grounds Team maintains all athletic fields, making sure the fields are safe and properly set-up for all football, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis tournaments and any other special events throughout campus, including the Flea Market, which has become a big event held on the first Saturday of each month with an Electronic Flea Market held the following Saturday on a seasonal basis.
Environmental Responsibility
Waste Management
Recycling
In conjunction with the Custodial Department, the Grounds Team is responsible for collecting all the trash generated by the college and diverting recyclable materials from the campus waste stream.
Recycled materials include metals, cardboard and paper, wood, a variety of plastics, glass, bottles and cans, as well as yard debris.
Composting
The Grounds Team also collects kitchen scraps from the Dining Services operation, composting approximately two tons each month that would otherwise be sent to a Landfill, into useable soil amendment for the campus landscape beds eliminating the need to purchase and apply expensive synthetic fertilizers.
