Summer 2009
We are busy planning for 2009-10, based on the strong foundation we’ve built – our beautiful
new gallery, stunning art, and solid friends. With college and community, we are enhancing
partnerships, building new relationships, and developing programming that will showcase the
Euphrat as a living forum, a hub for the arts.
As we prepare for an exciting fall lineup, art will be on exhibit at various times over the summer.
Check this website to find out about mini-exhibitions and activities as they develop.
We continue our theme of Looking Back, Looking Ahead,
the title of our inaugural exhibition
at the new Euphrat. As Chancellor Dr. Martha Kanter prepares to leave for Washington D.C. to
be the new Under Secretary of Education, she referenced the exhibition’s title at the June 17th
farewell reception on campus. She said that she had photographed DASB President Terrell Sterling
during the opening reception for the new Euphrat. He was standing below the title on the wall:
Looking Back, Looking Ahead. She feels those words mirror her sentiments as well and she will
take the image to Washington as her cell phone graphic.
