Description:
Occupy for Education at De Anza is a coalition of students building an open space for forums and workshops to empower students, raise awareness of the educational budget crisis, discuss creative solutions to on-campus problems created by the cuts, and promote the March 5th demonstration in Sacramento as well as the March 1st Day of Action at De Anza.
Join in the activities every Tuesday for a weekly series of all-day, overnight camp-outs geared to teach, share, inspire and empower.
In solidarity with the Occupy Movement, the group members recognize that the current state of affairs from educational budget cuts to national unemployment are one in the same thing and part of a larger failed financial system that has proven to be unsustainable.
The group's goal is to recognize and understand the problem to work toward sustainable solutions in restoring higher education.
Look for Occupy for Education at De Anza on Facebook to follow the group's activities.
