### Math 11 Chapter 7 Sets and Counting (Combinatorics)

Chapter 7 Homework:

 ¨Section 7.1: --Set Operations #1,3,4,5,6,7,9,11, --Venn diagrams 13,14,15,16,17,18, 19 Section 7.2 Multiplication Axiom 6 through 10, 13 through 17 Section 7.3 Permutations 1,3 through 8,11-19, 21, 22 Section 7.4 More Permutations 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16 Section 7.5 Combinations 1 through 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 19 Section 7.6 More Combinations 1 through 6, 21, 22, 23, 25*, 27*, 29, 30, 31, 32*25, 27 set up the calculation.  The answers may be very large for some of the questions 25-28 so may be expressed in scientific notation when you evaluate them on your calculator.

These are short problems.  They are fast to do, unlike our previous topics.  You need to do a variety of problems of various kinds to get used to recognizing the types and be able to know what methods to use to solve them.   Doing only a very few problems may not give sufficient practice or varied enough practice.  If you get stuck on a problem, try but then move on and then go back to it later.  Something you do later may help you understand something you were previously stuck on.
