CD 58 Final presentations -Part 1

Culture is made up of all those factors in your environment which includes attitudes, values, laws, cherished beliefs, and other ways of doing things. (PITC)

Culture  includes:
ways to relate to one's elders,
roles of men and women,
childrearing practices,
engagement and wedding rituals
rites of passage,
marriage ceremonies,
birth ceremonies,
the meaning of death,
foods,
expectations about behavior differences in people and toward strangers,
religion,
music and art,
language,
religious ceremonies,
value of education

Pick one culture and research two or three aspects of that culture in the context of how infants, toddlers, and children can maintain it while living in the United States.  Be able to share with the class your findings in a creative, dynamic way.  (IDEAS) Use props, wear the traditional clothing, bring food to share, role play, etc. Visuals must be part of your presentation. Print out the rubric and hand it to Dr.Cordero on the day of your presentation.

Each group has 25 minutes to present their culture.  The presentations will begin on June 15th.  This part of the final will be worth 25 points.  Part 2 of the final is multiple choice and will be given during the last hour of the final which covers chapter 10 on emotions.

The following cultures include:
Indian, Chinese, Mexican, African, Philippine ,German, Japanese, Korean, or Russian.  If there is a culture that you would like to speak about please let me know and I can add it to the list.

Part 2

There will be 15 multiple choice / true and false questions from Chapter 10 (Emotions).  Out of the three essay questions below  I will choose two for you to answer on a separate piece of paper.  These are worth 5 points each.
