About Andrea
I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the U.S. as an adult. After settling in the Bay Area, I worked as a paralegal in various law firms for 15 years. While I enjoyed the challenge and excitement of the legal field, I have always had a passion for learning languages and for teaching others. I therefore decided to pursue a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) while continuing to work in the legal field.
In 2005, I started to teach in the De Anza College Readiness lab. I have enjoyed working with students at De Anza since my first day here!
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and two sons - one a teenager and the other one a toddler. A few of my favorite activities include visiting local parks, going on long hikes, and spending afternoons at the beach.
