“A Night of Magic”
Saturday,
November 15, 2003
De Anza will renovate a 35-year-old building to house its new Mathematics,
Physical Sciences and Engineering Center. The Center will be located in
the Science Quad, adjacent to the new Science Complex for biology and
chemistry. All funds raised through “A Night of Magic” this year will
be used to provide hardware, software and furnishings for the Mathematics,
Physical Sciences and Engineering Center, scheduled to open in Spring
2005.
The new Center will make state-of-the-art teaching and support areas
available to thousands of students. Their success in mathematics, physical
science and engineering courses at De Anza will enable their progress
to the university and into the workforce. The Center will provide faculty
members with an optimal teaching environment to better help students achieve
their academic and career goals. It will include four “smart” multi-media
classrooms and three computer labs with 40 computer stations each, along
with a science, math and engineering resource center located in a central
open area designed to facilitate student-faculty-counselor interaction.
For more information, see the Night
of Magic flyer (PDF).
