Math 10.63Z Winter 2018

Lisa Markus

Welcome to Statistics at De Anza College. I hope you find this course interesting. This is an online class with 4 required on-campus exams. You may also request to take the proctored exams elsewhere - please read the syllabus for details.

Please read the SYLLABUS  all the way through!

There are FOUR Proctored Exams, possibly on the following dates (Again, I am waiting for confirmation of room availability). The last page of the syllabus explains how you can request to take the exams elsewhere (they still must be proctored).

Tuesday 30 January, 5:30pm - 6:30pm in MLC 105
Tuesday 20 February, 5:30pm - 6:30pm in MLC 105
Tuesday 13 March, 5:30pm - 6:30pm in MLC 105
Tuesday 27 March, 6:15pm - 8:15pm in ADMIN 101 (different room!)

You must enroll before the start of the quarter. I will NOT give out any add codes (except to possibly students on the official wait list). Once the quarter starts on January 8, there are no additional enrollments, even if the class is listed as "Open". This is to ensure every student is ready to start the course. Also, this online course was  open to 20 extra students during the registration period, so if MyPortal list 5 "open" seats, the class has 15 extra students already, not 5 spaces.

Student Learning Outcomes for Math 10:

1.Organize, analyze, and utilize appropriate methods to draw conclusions based on sample data by constructing and/or evaluating tables, graphs, and numerical measures of characteristics of data.

2.Identify, evaluate, interpret and describe data distributions through the study of sampling distributions and probability theory.

3.Collect data, interpret, compose and defend conjectures, and communicate the results of random data using statistical analyses such as interval and point estimates, hypothesis tests, and regression analysis.
