Meeting Notes - October 3, 2012

1) Welcome & Introductions

Jeanpierre welcomed the team to the 2012-13 year.

2) Charge, Goals, Ground Rules, Principles, and Training PBT Members

Jeanpierre reviewed the information with the members.

3) Approve Notes from June 8,2012

The notes were approved.

Jeanpierre added that the College's ending fund balance of approx. $5m was released to the campus in late September.

5) Budget Reduction Discussion

Jeanpierre announced that once again the campus has to make further reductions.

The new target reduction figure for the FER PBT is $377k.

To start the process Jeanpierre reminded the team that their departments should have updated their AUO's over the summer.

She asked that each area that does a one page program review summary that follows the the criteria below.

1) What events or changes most impacted your area in 2011-12?

2) Provide a quantitative (measurable) update, including the survey results/feedback for the 2011-12 year.

3) Planning Agenda for 2012-13. Give your three highest priorities for improvement in 2012-13.

Please restrict your update to one page. Data backup may be provided on additional documents.

These Program Reviews / AUOs will be used to prioritize further budget reductions for the VP area.

The one page program review summary for FUND 14 departments must be completed and submitted to the managers by October 16, 2012. These summaries will be reviewed at the FER PBT meeting on October 18, 2012.

The recommendations from each PBT will go to College Council on October 25, 2012. The president will present the college wide proposal to the Chancellors staff on October 26, 2012.

Jeanpierre will meet with the FER Departments on October 12, 2012 to discuss their program reviews and budget.

Self Funded departments should submit their one page program review summary by October 26, 2012 for review at the November 9, 2012 FER PBT meeting.

6) Quick News

MLC: TRG are still getting requests for tech support, especially from the CIS faculty.


The passage of Prop 30 in November will be of paramount importance to community colleges.
