De Anza College's Programs Serving
Students with Developmental Disabilities
Overview
In partnership with HOPE Services* since 1975,
De Anza has worked with under-served adults who have:
- developmental disabilities
- Down's syndrome
- autism spectrum disorders
- or other related conditions
Employment preparation training takes place in
three off-campus HOPE work center locations.
* a non-profit Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited agency

The successful thirty-four year partnership between HOPE and De Anza affords the student clients with services that are greater than either could provide alone. The De Anza enrolled students at HOPE have access to other services afforded students with disabilities, such as
- registration assistance
- audio-visual resources
- a computer lab at each site
- specialized instruction
De Anza staff collaborate with the HOPE supported employment department. De Anza staff play an important role in providing
follow up support and resources to students who are
placed in a variety of community-based
jobs.
