Group of diverse students

All F-1 visa students, whether they work or not, are required to file for U.S. income taxes.
This handout: Tax Workshop Handout  is designed to familiarize you with taxes forms.

Please remember: ISP staff CANNOT tell you HOW to fill your own taxes!

But we do offer the following service:

Free Access to Federal tax software: Glacier tax prep

The International Student Programs office @ De Anza can provide you with a password to access the Glacier tax prep (formely CINTAX) software. The software provides an easy and user-friendly way to prepare your federal tax returns online in under 20 minutes. Since there is a limit on the number of people accessing the software, international students will have to request a password in advance on a first come, first served basis.

To request instructions and passwords to file your taxes,

please come to the ISP Office with a photo ID

*****number of passwords is limited, so hurry in*****

Glacier tax Prep - for students who worked in 2013

Glacier tax Prep - for students who did not work in 2013

Special Note:Please do not use other software packages to help you file your taxes since they are not designed to understand complex non-resident tax issues, such as tax treaties, etc. Moreover, the IRS does not currently allow Forms 1040NR and 1040NR-EZ to be filed electronically.
