The lab opened in Fall 2002 with 4 courses (ESL 210s) and Conversation Workshops. Three quarters later, in Spring 2003, the lab served 1040 students who came to workshops, tutoring sessions or to use the computer software, Internet or recording equipment. After the success of the conversation workshops, we added a few other fun workshops like singing and listening. Click here to see pictures of some of the workshops. ESL 210 (Conversation Practice) has been a success too. Click here to see some pictures. This quarter, we are offering six sections of ESL 210 (Conversation Practice); one section of ESL 211 (Listening in Context); six sections of ESL 213 (Idioms and Vocabulary); two sections of ESL 216 (Practice reading extended texts); one section of ESL 223 (Short story reading); and two sections of ESL 224 (Vocabulary and Reading). Click here to see some pictures of last spring's CCP get-together. The Language Exchange program started in Winter 2003. Throughout the year, it had outstanding results. Languages exchanged were ASL, Cantonese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian and Spanish. We got good responses from the students and most students are continuing their exchanges in the listening lab. Home | About Us | Orientations | Programs | Resources | De Anza Listening
