Nursing Department Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Close to 4,000 Nurses Trained Through De Anza's Program
Congratulations to De Anza's nursing program, highly regarded throughout Silicon Valley, on celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
How can De Anza nursing be 50 when the college itself is just 45? The program transferred over from our sister college, Foothill, when our campus opened in 1967. Close to 4,000 of the valley's nurses have been trained through the stellar program since its inception. The Nursing Department celebrated with an Open House on May 9, 2012, bringing back former students, many who have come back to teach. And check out the vintage photo, complete with vintage caps.
2012 Graduates to Celebrate at Annual Pinning Ceremony
Join us on Thursday, June 28 to honor this year's nursing program graduates during the annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony from 6-8 p.m. in the Sunken Garden.
If you are on campus at that time, stop by to see the well-deserved smiling faces. Take a look at the slide show of graduates and their families and friends from 2010.
