About the No Smoking Policy:
As the result of a November 2004 survey of all students and employees, and
the work of a district-wide committee, the Foothill-De Anza Community College
District Board of Trustees approved a revised no smoking policy on June 20,
2005. In order to provide a safe learning and working environment for students
and employees, smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor campus locations,
with the exception of designated parking lots.

NEWS FLASH!
Work places and public areas that are smoke-free reduce heart attacks and heart problems:
The Pueblo Heart Study examined data over a three year period while nine previous studies that were conducted on a similar subject were at a year or less of data after the implementation of smoke-free laws. These nine studies concluded that indoor workplaces and public areas that were smoke free were associated with sizable, rapid reductions in hospital admissions for heart attacks.
