President Murphy to Testify in Second Public Hearing on Review of Higher Education Master Plan

The Joint Committee for Review of the Master Plan on Higher Education will hold its second public hearing on Tuesday, February 2, in Sacramento. Brian Murphy, president of De Anza College, is scheduled to testify along with a wide range of education stakeholders.
Murphy, who from 1985 to 1989 served as the chief consultant to the California State Legislature Joint Committee for Review of the Master Plan for Higher Education, also testified before the current joint committee on December 6.
The hearing topic will be "Universal Access." Speakers will testify about trends, challenges and ideal goals for college access, as well as the effects of diminished access on the state, the workforce and the economy.
