Prerequisites:Advisory: English Writing 211 and Reading 211 (or Language Arts 211), or English as a Second Language 272 and 273. Course Description:An introduction to electric power systems, focusing on distribution components such as transformers, switch-gear, distribution panels, and wiring. Power systems analysis, preventive maintenance, and record keeping techniques will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on opportunities within a facility's distribution system to save energy, increase equipment life, and reduce unscheduled outages.
