• Hours: One hour lecture for each unit of credit.
• Repeatability: (Any combination of History 53W and 53X may be taken up to six times as long as the topics are different each time.)

Prerequisites:

Advisory: English Writing 200 and Reading 200 (or Language Arts 200), or English as a Second Language 261, 262 and 263.

Course Description:

Topics relating to California's sites and monuments through a historical perspective of various eras and major architects who created or influenced them. Consideration of the political, socioeconomic, geographical and environmental conditions providing the historical and cultural context in which these styles evolved.
