New Employee Orientation 2011 - 2012

Upon completing orientation, new faculty and staff will:
  • demonstrate an understanding of the climate, culture and vision of De Anza College and feel personally aligned with its mission.
  • identify opportunities for future engagement with the campus community and understand both the expectations and the value of their contributions.
  • recognize Professional Development and college resources that will support them through probation and tenure.

New part-time faculty are encouraged to attend a De Anza College orientation. This meeting will include a nuts-and-bolts session with an overview of the Faculty Resource Guide, and an introduction to the culture and organization of De Anza College. Technology training will include an introduction to the De Anza College internet email (Webmail) and portal system (for downloading class lists and submitting grades on line).

 New classified staff are encouraged to attend a De Anza College orientation. This meeting will include an introduction to the culture and organization of De Anza College, staff development and professional growth, the differences between union and Classified Senate, and the classified evaluation process. Technology training will review email on both Eudora and Webmail, online time reports (LiquidOffice), how to access your MyPortal account, and Meeting Maker Basics.
