About UsMission StatementThe mission of the ESL Readiness Lab is to help students raise their English writing and grammar skills level to college standards. PurposeThe primary purpose of the ESL Readiness Lab is to raise student skill levels to college standards. All classes are designed as college-level workshops for an entire quarter. Each classroom set up consists of 8-10 students, a Readiness Teaching Associate (RTA), and an instructor. Students meet for one class period a week. These small-group lab classes provide students with extra practice, learning through trial and error, and support with their skills. All students receive constant feedback and coaching from the RTAs. All enrolled students have access to the Instructional Computing Lab located downstairs in the Advanced Technology Center (ACT) Building in Rooms 102 and 103. StaffMichelle DuBarray is the Coordinator of our Lab. Mary Browning is the Student Success Center (SSC) Supervisor and is responsible for all the logistics of the Readiness Labs. She coordinates the Readiness Teaching Associate (RTA) schedules and answers staff and student questions as they arise. The Readiness Labs are fortunate to have over two dozen RTAs to assist students each quarter. Please visit or contact us to learn more about our program. |
