Adjunct Study Skills Online Orientation
The purpose of this Adjunct Skills 232 Orientation is to enable you to learn about the requirements and procedures to successful pass the course and to maximize your time so you Study Smarter, Not Harder!
Skills Oriention is worth a maximum of one-hour credit.
To complete the Online Orientation:
- Download the Adjunct Skills Orientation (PowerPoint);
- Visit the Academic Skills Center (ATC 302) to set up a course folder;
- Complete an orientation quiz about what you remember and score it with a staff member;
- Take a study skills Diagnostic Exam to learn about your own study style and habits;
- Fill out a Student Contact Sheet for your Supplemental Instructor (S.I.);
- Receive one hour of credit for completing the Orientation requirement.
Next, get started by:
- Reading course requirements and due dates in the Syllabus & Course Outline;
- Attending your group study sessions (starting week 3 of the quarter);
- Completing your 4 independent study labs.
- Students who complete all 4 labs by the deadline at the end of week 6 earn 60 ProPoints
- 60 ProPoints can be "cashed in" for one missed group study session
