Adjunct Study Skills

Adjunct Study Skills (Skills 232) provides study skills assistance for selected content courses at De Anza. Students learn study strategies such as test taking, time management, note taking and textbook reading, and relate these skills to the specific content course linked to the skills class. Adjunct Skills courses combine weekly small group sessions with self-paced laboratories and workshops.

This 1/2 unit Pass/No Pass lecture/lab class requires 12 hours per quarter: a 1 hour orientation, 7 group meetings, and 4 hours of skills labs.

Motto: "Study Smarter, Not Harder"

To receive credit for the class, students must:

  • Fill out a Scheduling Ticket in class and sign up for the group in L-47 (first two weeks of quarter)
  • Add and pay for the appropriate Skills 232 class
  • Complete an orientation (Online Adjunct Skills Orientation)
  • Make a folder in L-47
  • Attend 7 group sessions
  • Complete four Skills Labs (see Skills 232 Lab Sheet 2009-10)
