My Vote, Our Future Campaign
A Voter Outreach and Education Project
In partnership with Silicon Valley-based Parents for Great Education, the Institute of Community and Civic Engagement (ICCE) formed a voter outreach and education campaign project starting this winter to engage parents, the 18-25 year old group, and immigrants in the June 2012 primary.
Campaign goals include registering 6,000 voters and making inroads in underrepresented communities.
Nine De Anza College student leaders have been hired and trained as organizers to conduct outreach in the targeted communities. The program is funded by the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters.
The campaign incorporates website, marketing, public relations, social media and community outreach strategies in support of the Registrar of Voters (ROV) objectives of increasing voter registration, voter education, and voter turnout in Santa Clara County and beyond. The project is coordinated in conjunction with Catholic Charities of Santa Clara; Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network/Asian Law Alliance; and Working Partnerships.
