Film Screening and Community Dialogue of Brett Morgan's CHICAGO 10

In 1968, the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was beset by protests in the streets. Several youth leaders and other activists organized public protests against the Vietnam war, against what they saw as America's failings. Eight of the leaders including Black Panther Bobby Seale were charged with inciting to riot and brought to trial in Chicago. Mixing animation with archival footage, CHICAGO 10 explores the buildup to and unraveling of the protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and the ensuing 1969 conspiracy trial. Moderated dialogue to follow film screening. Refreshments served.
