Careers in Business Administration and Management

Every company needs people who can establish and implement the policies that will make it run smoothly and successfully. Administrators and managers do this by both overseeing the every-day operation processes and evaluating employee performance. Some specific career opportunities in business administration and management include office manager, sales manager, personnel officer and program coordinator. The variety and range of job duties in business administration and management is related to the size of the organization and the level of specialized skills and experience of the managerial professional. Opportunities in business administration and management exist in almost all environments, including for- and not-for-profit businesses, professional organizations, educational institutions and all levels of government. The California employment outlook for managers is very favorable. The California Employment Development Department projects the classification of general and operations managers to grow by 19.1% for the period 2002-2012 (Source: Labor Market Info www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov).
