Shannon always knew that working at a community college was the best place for her because it would give her the opportunity to work with a variety of men’s and women’s sports. In the years leading up to working at De Anza College, Shannon was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at West Valley College and Los Gatos High School.

In 1989, Shannon began volunteering for the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team to provide medical coverage during professional rodeo events including the California Rodeo and PBR, the Grand National Rodeo, and the Livermore Rodeo. She continues to volunteer her time as often as she can.

In addition to her duties at De Anza College, Shannon is also an active member of the California Community College Athletic Trainers’ Association (CCCATA), was the CCCATA Vice President – North from 1997-2003, and was the CCCATA President from 2003-2005. Shannon was also a member of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) management council from 1999 to 2005. Shannon was named CCCATA Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2005 and was inducted into the CCCATA Hall of Fame in 2014.

Shannon’s knowledge and skills are an invaluable asset and her passion for athletic and academic success is evident in every student-athlete she works with. In her free time, Shannon enjoys being outdoors, tending to all of her animals, and spending time with family.
