Message from the Chair of Student Services and Feedback

My name is Alysa Ngo and I am the Chair of Student Services and Feedback. The overall student experience has always been very important to me, as it's crucial that we each enjoy our journey at Community College and beyond. I'm very passionate about helping to improve it for us all, and in a supportive environment too. I'm elated to be in a position where I can voice student needs and concerns and represent them at the De Anza Senate and beyond. I'm grateful to be able to host events for you all to connect and learn about the wonderful resources and services on and off campus that you may not know of.

After having had years of experience in leadership, I hope not to "lead" anyone, but rather hold your hands and stand beside you through our College experience to create positive change. Student Services and Feedback is your committee to hear any feedback/concerns you may have, and work with you and anyone involved to resolve them. You can find the Concerns Form on the DASG main page!

Lastly, SSF is always taking new interns and would love your ideas and help. If you are interested in political advocacy, planning events, and representing positive change for student needs you can join us! Please also reach out to me anytime to communicate any needs, so that I can make a change for you and De Anza!

What is the Student Services and Feedback Committee and what does it do?

Student Services and Feedback strives to represent and raise up student voices on campus, help students access and understand the services available at De Anza, and communicate student needs to the DASG Senate and beyond. Some pertinent issues currently are adjusting to online classes and unique struggles due to the pandemic (which includes the continued fight for basic needs support for housing/food/transportation), racial and educational justice, and support for international students.

On top of representing/raising student voices and sharing resources and services on campus, SSF also hosts the Student Resource Fair event, works to improve services, and handles Student Concerns boxes, where students can submit any grievances or concerns they may have (this may be online for the time being). SSF also works to create and conduct programs/services to facilitate the well-being of students.
