World Astronomy, Then and Now - 335

10/22/2019

1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

This is a reoccuring event.

Using the magic of the Planetarium, you will enjoy learning about star patterns of various cultures and hear their stories. Investigate constellations and associated myths originating in Indian, Chinese, Pacific Islander and Native American cultures. Explore the sky as seen from southern destinations like New Zealand and Australia as well as from places where the Sun never rises or sets. With our new digital projection system, students will see what star configurations looked like in the distant past and what they will look like thousands of years in the future. This course brings the educational value of the Planetarium at De Anza College to the community-at-large.

This class is designed for students ages ten and up. Students under 18 must take this class with an adult who has also registered.
