A Day of Silicon Valley Giving: May 6

Your Donation is Doubled at Designated Times

Silicon Valley Gives logoMark Tuesday, May 6, on your calendar! On that day, the region will come together for a day of giving through Silicon Valley Gives, sponsored by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Two De Anza College programs are included:
Institute for Community and Civic Engagement (ICCE) and the Fujitsu Planetarium.

Every dollar always helps, but at designated times on May 6 (see below), area foundations are matching each donation. Please consider making a contribution of any size to one or both participating De Anza programs.

You can also schedule your gift ahead of time. Go to and search by keyword, or click the links below.

ICCE works to empower students to become agents of change in their communities and beyond; to foster education that meets the needs of the communities it serves; and to help develop pathways to meaningful participation in local, state, and federal government decision-making processes. Projects include a mentoring program, partnership with Latina/o Empowerment at De Anza (LEAD), community advocate training, and Certificate in Leadership and Social Change. The Fujitsu Planetarium is the largest school planetarium west of the Rockies and hosts more than 30,000 visitors each year for astronomy and laser shows. Many are K-8 students from economically disadvantaged schools. Your donation can make a difference by bringing a student onto a college campus and exposing him or her to the world of astronomy. Read more.
