For general information regarding the RN program: Please read the information on the Nursing Program Information web page (click on link on the left side of this page) and look over the Program Information and Getting Started documents available for download from the same page. Also please attend our Quarterly Information Meetings (see link to left).
For information about Nursing Program Prerequisites: View the Getting Started document located on the Nursing Program Information page (link to the left). The document contains a list of required classes that can be taken at De Anza College. If some of your classes were taken at colleges other than De Anza and Foothill, you will need to submit official transcripts to the De Anza Admissions and Records Department. The Program Information document contains a section about official transcripts and their submittal for the nursing program. If classes from other colleges are not evaluated to be equivalent to the nursing prerequisites by Admissions and Records, you may have to submit a General Petition to the appropriate academic department to determine if the classes are equivalent. If your Core Science Courses were taken at other colleges not listed on the College Course Equivalency Spreadsheet, located on the Program Information web page, you MUST file a petition with the Biological & Health Science Division Office for review. Call the Nursing Department for further information.
If you have further questions or need to update your contact information with the nursing school, our phone number is 408-864-8687. We are also available via e-mail at nursing@deanza.edu.
