Child Development (The Early Years)
An introductory course that examines the major physical, psychosocial and cognitive/language developmental milestones for children, both typical and atypical, from conception through middle childhood. There will be an emphasis on interactions between maturational processes and environmental factors. While studying developmental theory and investigative research methodologies, students will observe children, evaluate individual differences and analyze characteristics of development at various stages.(This course meets NAEYC Standards 1 and 3; NBPTS Standards 1 and 4; and CEC Standards 1, 2 and 3.)

Class Dates: This class runs from 2022-09-26 to 2022-12-16.
C D-010G-50Z-: This is an online class that does not have scheduled meetings. Students can log in anytime to do the required weekly course work. Weekly office hours will be provided for students to individually meet with the instructor through Zoom Meeting. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests. This class will use the Canvas course management system.
