CLOUD COMPUTING
AND SECURITY (429*)
Industry has largely embraced the concept of cloud computing for the many bene ts it provides, including  nancial savings and faster time to market. But the cloud model introduces security challenges that need
to be addressed. Recent highly publicized hacker attacks show that security must be a top priority. In this three-part series, students will learn how to address the most common and intricate security issues. No previous experience with this technology is necessary.
Instructor: Mourad Cherfaoui has more than 20 years of experience in computer science, academia and the tech industry. His interests include so ware development, distributed systems and cybersecurity.
Class requirements: Tablet or laptop with a USB port to connect to the internet. Students must be age 14 or older. Students under 18 must take this class with an adult who has also registered.

FULL STACK
WEB DEVELOPMENT: PARTS I, II AND III (371*)
 is three-part series will teach you the essential elements of webpage development, covering HTML, CSS and JavaScript. In
the  rst course, HTML and CSS will be discussed, explored and applied.  e second course will consider the essential components of JavaScript, including variables, arrays, loops, events and functions.  e third course will explore more advanced elements of JavaScript control – including advanced use of functions, event control, array processing and DOM manipulation – and provide an introduction to front-end web user interface frameworks. No previous experience with these technologies is necessary.
Instructor: Eya Badal is a longtime so ware engineer who is currently pursuing an advanced so ware engineering degree.
She has a knack for making di cult topics understandable.
