About the California History Center (CHC)

The California History Center and California History Center Foundation are in partnership with the Foothill-De Anza Community College District to provide a holistic, hands-on approach to history and current issues for students and the larger community.

As we enter the 21st century, the vision for the CHC is to be the hub for California Studies in the Santa Clara Valley. We continue to develop a dynamic, multidisciplinary, California Studies program which includes new courses, lectures and workshops for students, staff and community, and a variety of other activities. The hope is to provide a place where students, faculty, staff, and community can enter into dialogue and grapple intellectually with what California means, what it is and what it can become; in other words to educate the residents of this state to be informed participants in determining California's future.
