About Me

I grew up in Ohio.  I earned a B.A. in Journalism from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and went on to do sales and marketing for several minor league hockey teams.  I returned to school in 2005, taking math classes at University of Dayton and Illinois Institute of Technology before starting graduate school at Michigan State University, where I earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics with a focus in Topology in 2013.  I am a certified yoga teacher and also enjoy running, hiking, knitting, baking and reading.
