  7. How do you identify yourself racially and ethnically ? Read the definition of Ethnicity in the glossary to answer this question.
  8. What generation are you? The people that migrated to America are the first generation. Their children are considered the second generation. The grandchildren of the first generation are the third generation. If you were younger than 12 when you migrated to the US you would be considered the 1.5 generation. If your parents and grandparents migrated at the same time, you would still be second generation.
  9. What year did the first generation of your family migrate to the US?
  10. Why did they come to the US?
  11. Why are you taking this course? Did someone you know recommend it? Is it for GE or for an ICS requirement for the AA degree?
  12. What courses, books, or films in Intercultural Studies/Ethnic Studies have you taken, read, or watched?
